Many students who choose martial arts are looking for specific goals to achieve. When compiling the main program we have tried to include techniques from different styles that we feel would be useful for all abilities.

This covers most goals that people are looking to attain. However, where possible we will try to help you achieve any specific goals you may have.

Adult lessons are 60 minutes long and consist of the following:

 

Warm up - Increase Cardiovascular 

Stretch - Stretch muscles to prevent injury 

Lesson Content - Following Lesson Plan 

The lesson content can take place in many formats and always following a prepared lesson plan.

Line Work

Where all students are in their own space/ square and perform the combinations and techniques the instructor has said. Grading is in this format as well.

Pad work

A combination of different kickboxing techniques and sequences put together using boxing gloves and hand pads. This can be adapted through different abilities and age range.

Shadow Sparring

Shadow Sparring is a good way to train for agility. This is by sparring was an imaginary opponent. This is also used as part of the main grading syllabus for the students to show what they have learnt and achieved.

Sparring

Sparring otherwise known as "practice fighting". This is the time where you practice the training skills with a partner and think quick to what you partner has just thrown. This is a good way to improve your reaction speed and fitness.

cardio fitness

Kickboxing gives you that all important  full body workout. Training, Grading and Sparring raise your heart rate which gives your cardiovascular system a vital boost.

ground work

Groundwork is a type of martial arts otherwise known as (MMA - Mixed Martial Arts) . Groundwork usually starts back to back and all the techniques are taken place on the ground. 

More often than not students will partner up during the lessons with students of the same or similar ability. This encourages our students to bond, work together, encourage each other, and enjoy their training.  

Coaches and instructors are always on hand within the lessons to answer questions, explain technique and application
